David Leonard RC Forum Moderator	Forum name: David Leonard Location: Brisbane, Australia Team member since: Since... well, Quest acquired Vintela in 2005. I joined Vintela in 2004. Wow.. doesn't seem that long ago. Is 2004 the right answer? With Quest since: 2005 Favorite Vintela component: I like RC's dnsupdate tool. What gets you excited about Vintela? It still amazes me today what VAS does - bridging two worlds and so forth. There are also some very, very smart people (besides me!) working here and in Lindon who are inspirational.  I'm excited by the thought that the small ideas and conveniences that we come up today can wind up as part of the operational fabric of enormous companies: Bringing an epsilon of happiness to uncountable users is exciting. I've always enjoyed 'the gift of giving' and since our group doesn't (directly) charge for what we do, I can easily feed that minor delusion. What do you like about being part of this team? I've been allowed the trust and freedom to make some hard technical choices and that has been surprisingly rewarding. Sometimes it turns out better than expected, and sometimes it turns sour, of course, but regardless of the outcome, everyone here is supportive and professional. And eager! We all share a desire to do the best we can, and we share technical criticism and praise alike to that positive goal. They've got to be the best group I've ever worked with. Hobbies: I entertain two children, play piano and work on various open source projects. Dislikes: Over-cooked chokos. Hideous C styles. The human requirement to sleep.
